who is shalom?

“Shalom” is a network of Indian and Australian families, who’ve been working together since 2008, with a shared desire to help bring positive change to the lives of children, families and communities caught in the cycle of poverty in India.

The name Shalom comes from the Hebrew language, and means ‘nothing broken, nothing missing, nothing lacking’.

Through the programs and activities associated with our Global Development Group project, Shalom Community Development Projects (GDG Project J514N), we aim to equip children, families and communities with skills, support and resources that will help create new opportunities and empower them, so they can overcome the challenges poverty creates and go on to lead abundant, transformed lives.

Every successful individual knows that his or her achievement depends on a community of persons working together.
